This morning I had to get Draven up and ready for Galveston. He is going with Aunt Sis to help lay sod at the beach house. They will drive today, work Friday, play Saturday, and drive back home on Sunday. Draven doesn't mind the work, he just loves going to the beach house. I don't know if Lillie knew what was going on but she was a bit clingy with Draven. She grabbed her sunglasses and climbed on top of his bag. She wanted to go. Maybe next time Lillie.

Dinner and Galveston...
Last night we had a few close friends over for dinner. We were celebrating Auntie Lo's big 4-0! We had pot roast and blackberry cobbler for dessert. It was a wonderful evening. It was nice to catch up with old friends. I still have my cold so I was grateful it was an early evening.

Week update...
Draven spent Thursday and Friday night with Papa. He helped him roof his workshop. That is a lot of hard work. I forget sometimes that Draven is a man, not a little boy. I have a feeling Draven will end up with a lot of little odd jobs over the summer. He did a little babysitting on Wednesday. He watches his Nephew Luc on occasion. They spend most of the time just playing together. He is so good with kids. That kid is going to make some serious money over the summer. Hopefully, he will learn to save some. After babysitting we went to the zoo. Lillie is really starting to love the zoo. Draven hadn't been all year because he had been in school. So glad it is summer and I can spend it with both kids.
Friday we went over to Aunt Sis' house for her birthday dinner. Uncle Bear cooked mini fillets, lobster tail, and corn on the cob. Chris and I brought his famous green beans and my yummy apple, spinach, and cranberry salad. It was nice to sit outside and have a few glasses of champagne. I think Chris and I had a little guilt for eating things that weren't on our diet and drinking alcohol. Friday was also the first day we didn't go to the gym in two months (except for when they closed on Memorial Day.) It was hard to get back in the groove on Saturday.
Lillie has been fighting a cold/bronchitis since Thursday. We started her on her nebulizer on Thursday. She hasn't ran a fever, but she has congestion in her chest. We know the drill now. Last time we took her to her doctor she told us that we just need to start her on the nebulizer at the first sign of congestion and try to kick it before it turns into an infection. I think we are on top of it. She is still on the nebulizer and isn't better yet but she isn't worse either.
Saturday night we had a wedding to go to for two of our tenants. The wedding was in the park and the reception was at their house (our old house on 30th.) It was a beautiful wedding and reception but we didn't stay long. Chris and I were both tired and ready to just go home. We got a few movies to watch and were asleep by midnight.
Now it is Sunday morning. I guess we will be going to the gym when it opens. After that, I have no idea what we will do. Today is Auntie Lo's birthday. If you are reading this, "Happy Birthday!!!!!"
Hopefully Lillie and I will start feeling better soon so we can enjoy having Bubba out of school.

I wanted a good picture of just the two of us. Draven took the picture and Lillie was at Chris leg begging to be picked up. Somehow she ended up in the picture. One of these days we will get a family picture done with all four of us.

Brag Post...
Usually I brag about my kids.
Today I brag about me and my husband.
I started working out regularly about 3 months ago. After I hurt my hand I slowed down a bit. Even though I couldn't go to Yoga or lift weights I still could do cardio. After Chris went to the doctor (for various reasons) he decided he needed to get serious about getting healthy. Once May hit we were both going to the gym everyday. Sometimes we would go twice a day. We cut out all (most) of the crap out of our diet. We even quit drinking alcohol. Soon the pounds began to melt off. Both of us noticed the board at the gym for Fitlinx. Fitlinx is a program that we use to track our progress. They show the top 10 gym members in 6 different categories for each month. Chris and I were determined to make the board. Looking at that board everyday at the gym made me so competitive. Competition is a great motivator.
Well today is the first of the month and May's board is up.
Here's I rank.
I made the top 10 in 5 out of 6 categories. Not only did I make the top 10, I ranked number third 3 times and number 1 twice. I would of ranked in the 6th category, but that was in weight lifting. I had to slow that down while my hand healed. I know I will get it next month.
Chris made the board in 2 out of 6 categories for males. I don't remember where he ranked in each category. But I do know we both worked our butts off (literally) to make it on the board. So next time you see us, don't forget to tell us how good we look!
Here I am in front of the board.

Plain White Tees...

I didn't take any pictures when we went to the Paseo Arts Festival. Luckily, someone else did. I remembered someone saying they were taking it for OKC Voice. Not sure what that is, but I tracked down the photo. I know, we all are wearing white shirts. Once Draven realized that, he was so embarrassed. I promise, it wasn't planned.

The rest of the weekend...
I posted our Friday night already, so on to Saturday. Chris and I started the day early with a big workout. We knew the gym would be closed on Monday so we were trying to put in a little extra workout. We spent the rest of our day at the Paseo Art Festival. I didn't take any pictures there because it was just too hot! The festival is so large now. It has doubled in size since the last time we went. After that we were ready to be inside for the rest of the day. We planned on cooking out but the hot day soon turned into a thunderstorms. I decided to make a Hamby Family Favorite and make Chrome Dogs. My sister had made these the other day and I started to crave them. Not exactly on the diet, but we make them with fat free dogs and whole wheat buns. I also made my new favorite salad. It is made with green leaf lettuce, spinach, dried cranberries, almonds or walnuts, apples, and homemade vinaigrette. It is so delicious! We finished up the night with Twilight. Draven did not want to see it. After a few minutes into the movie, Draven was hooked. He loved it. Chris wants to start on the books now.
On Sunday, the kids and Chris went to church. While there, Draven made plans to spend the night with one of his friends. I dropped off Draven, then we headed to Nanny's house for dinner. She made a fantastic meal! We had the biggest pork chops I have ever seen. Chris referred to them as Chopzilla. We also had ratatouille, corn on the cob, and baked apples. It was so good! Lillie ate everything! After dinner we decided to take Lillie for a walk to the park. We played for a while then headed back to Nanny's. Lillie and I split a ice cream bar on the porch. Lillie loved that. She was such a mess and had to have a bath in Nanny's sink. When we got home Chris and I watched the Changeling. It is very depressing, but a really good movie. Monday we didn't have any plans. We picked up Draven from his friends house. After that we went shopping for fountains for our backyard. We didn't find anything. We needed to go to Academy to buy a seat for my bike for Lillie. Conveniently, Jason's Deli is right next door. We love that place. They have the best salad bar in town. Lillie ate a grilled cheese and an ice cream cone. When we got home Lillie took her nap. The rest of us started yard work. Draven worked so hard and was a huge help. I told him that we would all go swimming across the street to cool off. Luckily, we showed up just in time for a cookout. We all swam and ate for hours. The water was 88 degrees, about the same temperature as outside. Lillie couldn't get enough of the pool. Around 8pm we ended our long Memorial Day weekend. I hated to see it go. We all had a great time. I am so glad that summer is here!

Friday Family Fun Night...

For the past few months we have tried to do a family night every Friday. Usually it consists of us going to the south side YMCA to workout while Draven plays in the teen room and Lillie plays with babies. After that we would swim as a family. They have a great indoor pool/sprayground. Sometimes we just get takeout and rent a movie. Tonight we decided to splurge. We went to Incredible Pizza. This was not very "bunny (budget) friendly" as my sister would say. Just for four of us to get in cost $30+! That is with two adults, one 12 year old (yes, I know he is 13) and a baby. It also wasn't very diet friendly. We did make the decision to go there over Chuckee Cheese because they do have some healthy options. I think we did pretty well sticking to our diet, but there was ice cream...
Lillie spent most of the time taking in all of the lights and sounds. Chris called it Las Vegas for kids. Lillie didn't like most of the baby rides, but she loved the train. Draven went for all the games where you could win tickets. We all played air hockey. It is official, Draven is the air hockey champion! After spending two hours there we were done. All agreed it was money well spent. Everyone came home in a good mood. Now Draven is watching Spaceballs, Lillie is in bed, and Chris and I are getting ready for some Chelsea Lately in bed. Oh, one more thing! I finally got some new glasses and sunglasses. I love them! I am sure I will have a lot more to post over this long weekend...
Stay Tuned.

Play with your food...
Sooner Start always gives us great advice. They us every month what we should be working on with Lillie. The last few months they have told us we need to let Lillie feed herself. I dreaded this. I hate a mess. I give Lillie a spoon or fork and she uses it to throw food, not eat it. Sooner Start kept telling me we need to let her get messy. She will eventually figure it all out. Last Sunday we had my dad over for Chris' Super Helper Dinner. Lillie loves noodles and loved this. She ate in her highchair and had three helpings. I don't know how it happened or who's idea it was, but she ended up on the table. She went for the bowl of helper like she was a starving stray dog. She grabbed the serving spoon and started to shovel it in. Lots of it got in her mouth, most of it got on her. I don't know if this is what they meant by "it's ok if she gets messy." She ate well and we were entertained. She is doing much better using her fork and spoon. Lot's of it ends up on the floor or on her head, but she is getting the hang of it.
