Lillie's 6 month checkup

Not much to say. She is just doing so well. No news is good news, right? Our little Lillie now weighs a whooping 14 pounds and 10 ounces and is 25" long. She is free to eat whatever she wants that is stage one baby food. She already eats squash, rice cereal, sweet taters, and applesauce. Now we can add some greens, all oranges, and oatmeal. They gave her 3 shots and she was not happy with that. She was nervous the whole visit. Dr. Dooley said she had stranger anxiety. I think she knew she was getting shots. She really wanted her mommy to pick her up. Seems like she has hit all of the developmental milestones, plus she is ahead on a few. When I got her home she was a little tired from the Tylenol and ready for bed. She woke up this morning with a bit of a fever, but Tylenol cleared it up again. When I picked her up from day care she was in a great mood.
The doctor said the only thing she needs to work on is teeth and hair. I'm in no hurry. I like we toothless bald baby.

Tonight we took Lillie to meet the ducks at the pond at OU medical. She is starting to show interest in animals. She got to pat the bunny tonight too! She loves the bunny more than anything! Cats come in a close second.

LILLIE'S FIRST DINNER PARTY...

Lillie was invited to her first dinner party on Saturday. It was at the home of our friends Ted and Sheila. We met Ted and Sheila through Lillie's God Father Rusty. I think he was invited and insisted that they invite Lillie (and her parents.) Rusty invited Laura (Auntie Lo) as his date. We had a fantastic time. The food was amazing! Lillie was such a good sport. We got there about at her bed time. Ted put two chairs together in the room next to the dining room. I layed Lillie down and she went right to sleep. She would of slept there all night. We ended up leaving around midnight. We probably would of stayed longer but Mommy hit a wall. Too many Guinness I guess. Hopefully Lillie made a good first impression and we will be invited back.

20 dollar family fun night...

The first time the $20 night idea came up was when Chris and I discovered the $2.25 rice ball at Falcone's. The rice ball is filled with different veggies, ham and covered in sauce. It is enough for two starving adults. The last time Chris had one we discussed how a rice ball and a dollar movie would be a cheap date. So tonight we turned our idea into "Family Fun Night." Now we can't compete with Aaron and Shell's day. We only had the evening, not the whole day. Of course, we started the evening off at Falcone's. Chris and I split the rice ball and Draven had two slices of pepperoni pizza. That was $7.86. After that we stocked up on snacks at 7-11. I got Boston Baked Beans, Draven got the Whoopers, and Chris got a Tall Boy. That was $6ish (I don't have that receipt.) After that it was off to see Iron Man. Our tickets were $1.75 each, that was $5.25. We ended up with a little change left and Draven bought some toy out of the Machine at the theater. We started to head home until I realized I had a couple of lottery tickets in my wallet I need to check. Chris ran into the convenience store and came out with $15 bucks. We weren't going to count that towards our family night because the tickets were from months ago. But still... I was a great night. Our food was great, the movie was fantastic! Now we are home at 10pm and ready for bed. Lillie slept through most of the movie. Lets hope she sleeps as good as she did last night... 8 hours!

Next time we do our family fun night I will try to take more pictures. I kept forgetting my camera. I usually keep it in my purse, but with a baby I don't take my purse in anywhere. I always have the diaper bag with me.

I know this looks pretty gross. But trust me... It is pretty darn good.

The God Father...

Today we picked up Rusty from the airport. If I haven't announced it already, Laura and Rusty are Lillie's God Parents! Lillie gets to see Auntie Lo all the time, but rarely gets to see Rusty. So after he arrived we headed to Cattleman's for a great lunch. It was better than ever. We had the lambfries, lunch steak, potato, and salad. That is the traditional Cattleman's meal. I want some more of those lambfries right now. After lunch we headed to Rusty's house for a quick diaper change before heading home. Lillie decided she needed to sit in every chair that Rusty has in his collection (or at least part of his collection.) She had so much fun humoring us. Rusty thinks she is going to grow up and be an architect and that she has an eye for design. He might be right. She really enjoyed those chairs...

Sit Lillie, Sit. Good Girl...

Lillie has been working on sitting unassisted for sometime now. She can do it as long as she has something to keep her distracted. When she has a toy infront of her she is fine. Take that toy away and she falls over. We still keep pillows around her just in case she falls. I think in another week or two she will have it down. Sooner Start taught give us tips on helping her keep her balance. We sing "Row Row Row Your Boat" and make her rock back and forth with her hands touching the floor each time she rocks. That teaches her to catch herself when she falls. It really works!

Mini Family Reunion

Yesterday we went over to Chris' mother's house for a mini family reunion. Chris grandmother (Lillie's great grandmother) wanted to get all the kids together for dinner. It was lots of fun. Most of these kids have never seen each other. Cousins are important. I remember when I was a kid I always looked forward to getting together with my cousins. All of the kids that were there were under 5 years old. They did so well playing together. I don't even think there was one tear or anything broken. Lillie even took a small nap while all the kids ran around. The kids loved Lillie! We were short a few great grandkids. Sophie and Luc were out of town and Draven didn't get back from the lake until after everyone had left. I felt so bad for him. He showed up at Nanny's house and said "When is everyone getting here?" I told him it was over, he looked so sad.
Later that night Draven went out for ice cream, just the two of us. We had a great time! We listened to rap music in the car and I danced while I drove. That embarrasses him so bad, but it also makes him laugh. After that, we watched National Treasure 2. I fell asleep within 30 minutes. The boys enjoyed it. Now it is Sunday and I think we are going shopping after church. Nothing too exciting here. Just glad to have Draven back home and getting ready for another year of school.

Some friends of ours got Lillie her first Halloween costume. I think she might out grow it before Halloween so we wanted to get pictures while it still fits. She seems to like it. Or at least tolerate it. Pretty cute.
