BED REST, DAY SIX...

This is her sweet pink bunny gown.

This is her going home outfit. She picked it out for her dad because he loves elephants.

Last night, the boys hung out at home and watched movies with me. My head started to ache and I just couldn't beat it. I finally fell asleep with a rag over my eyes about 1am. I also got the baby's bag packed. I felt a little productive. Today consisted of laying around and watching tv. Chris brought me some fruit and sweets from church, that was a highlight. Once the afternoon hit, I started to get depressed, so I got up and started to stress. It is like my body feels the need to get all worked up and stressed. I went down stairs and vacuumed and swept. Then I started on the baby's room. I got all of the baby's stuff we aren't going to use moved out. Yes, I broke every rule there is when it comes to "bed rest." My dad called and told me how proud he was that I am actually staying in bed. I just can't spend all day in bed. I am doing pretty well for me. Once it gets dark it is easier to lay around. Luckily it is almost dark.
Figured I need to take my belly pictures while I still have a belly.

BED REST, DAY FIVE...

Last night Luc came over and played with Draven. Nicole came over and dropped off some pretty pink roses for me to look at in bed along with a magazine. I would look at the magazine but it is a copy of Veranda and I have a feeling it will just make me feel like my house needs to be cleaned. It is so hard to fight that nesting instinct when you are stuck in bed. Chris made sloppy joes for dinner last night and a yummy breakfast casserole and cantelope for breakfast. He also bought some juice and 7up. So I am on to my fifth day of bed rest and it is really starting to get depressing. I look forward to my appt on Wednesday. Maybe the doc will have some exciting news. The baby will be 36 weeks and should be fine if she decides to induce. I guess I have a few more days till we find out. I can't wait to see my sweet little girl.

BED REST, DAY FOUR...

Last night's dinner. Thanks Sweet Hen!

Ok, this is getting to be a bit much. I feel like if I lay in bed any longer it is going to make me lazy. I want to do so much, but can't. The baby's clothes are still in the dryer, the kitchen is a mess, laundry needs to be done, it is chaos in this house without me!!! I got up this morning and saw the milk left out. Would anyone put it up if I didn't come by, no...
Ok, to be fair. My boys are doing their best. I really can't help but complain, even though I should be grateful. They have watched tv, played games, brought me dinner, water and anything else I ask. Chris made spaghetti last night and Draven played Family Feud on the computer with me. I just wish that I could use this "time off" to get stuff done. It really is enough to make me go crazy.

BED REST, DAY THREE...

My waiter last night...

Chris (the chef) made his famous chili. SO yummy!

I am doing fine today, not so great yesterday. I became overwhelmed with the stuff I still need to do. Luckily, I have a great hubby and son. They waited on me hand and foot. I started to freak that I didn't have my bag packed or the baby's stuff washed and packed. Chris ran to the store and bought laundry soap for her clothes and started washing them. He keeps asking if she is going to be born soon, then he gets in a bit of a panic. I don't know when she will be born, hopefully we have weeks left. We will know more on Wednesday. Today, I did pretty well. I only got up to get my lunch. All of this laying down is making my back spasm. I guess that goes with laying down for three days.
Last night my mother brought a blood pressure cuff over so I can measure my blood pressure at home. It is still high, but I have only been resting for a few days. Doctor wants it under 90, but it wants to linger right above. I am sure in a couple of days everything will be back to normal. Than we can start thinking about getting ready for our new addition. Let's just hope she waits 2 more weeks.

BED REST, DAY ONE.

I think I said that "strange things were happening." Well, I was right. Sunday I noticed a lot of swelling and that the baby dropped. On Monday, I still had the swelling and noticed more braxton hicks. Tuesday, I woke up with a terrible headache, braxton hicks and nausea. I called Dr. Reisig yesterday about the swelling and she told me she wanted me to come in. I was really surprised. Dr. Reisig never seems to worry. Chris took me to the doc this morning. I went back and did my normal lab work. The nurse said my blood pressure was elevated. She took it again to double check. Still up there. Don't remember what it was. I think I was so surprised that it was high. She sent me back to the doctor and she checked the baby. Heart beat was 140 and she said she was healthy. The she proceeded to tell me that I need to stop working and go on bed rest unitl further notice. I think Chris and I were both in shock. I haven't had any complications until now. Then Chris asked her if the baby was coming early and to our surpise she said "yes." I can't believe we didn't pass out. She said that my uterus and the baby dropped, there is a 3 finger difference in the height of my uterus from last week. She said that the baby's head is already pushing at my cervix. She said that she would like to see me go another 2 weeks but the baby might have different plans. She also said that if my blood pressure doens't go down Wednesday, she will have to induce to protect me. So, here I am. In bed. Bored and anxious. Not sure what to do. Not a lot I can do. Right now, my main focus is getting rid of this terrible head ache. I will keep everyone posted on my blog. The doctor did say that is she was born this week, not to worry. She will be fine. Chris and I would both like for her to wait a little longer so that she will come out strong and helathy. Everyone say a prayer that she holds off another week or two.

STRANGE THINGS HAPPENING...

I am feeling odd. That is to say the least.
Yesterday I started to swell up. My ankles, wrist, fingers and face were all puffy. Today I still have the puffiness. Going to call the doctor here in a few minutes. I have also had more Braxton Hicks contractions than before. Not sure if that means anything. Now this morning I am feeling nauseated. Probably the strangest thing, is my belly. Dr. Reisig said that she dropped weeks ago. Well, look at her now. I don't think she can be any lower without being born. I will let you know what the doc. says today.

EVERYTHING WILL SOON CHANGE..

This is a good thing. I just feel like I am grasping on to my former life. I don't know if the boys realize how different things are going to be.
We spent most of our Saturday prepping for baby. These little things are expensive! After pricing formula, I am thankful that I decided to try and breast feed. We bought a bunch of clothes, including a few sweat suits. We just couldn't get over how cute and little they were. I started to pack our bags yesterday too. That is so overwhelming. I know that the hospital provides most of the necessaties, but I want my stuff too. After the shopping, we came home and got ready for cotillion. Draven spent most of the day catching up with his friends while we shopped. Chris and I were the evenings chaperons. We basically have to stand around and pretend to be the host of "the party" and take compliments. I had lots of "I like your glasses, necklace and shirt." Chris has never had so many compliments on a tie. We were both disappointed that no one said, "nice baby." After cotillion, we decided to go out and try Cheesecake Factory. As many of you know, we are anti big chain restaurants. We had great things about it, so what the heck. It turned out to be very yummy! Great service too! Draven's meal took longer than ours, so they brought him out a big plate of french fries on the house. Of course, Draven and I got cheesecake to take home. We are still working on finishing it. I am going to miss my days of eating for two. So back to the change. Chris pointed out last night that this might be the last time we go out to dinner as a family of three. Just a wierd thought. Draven asked if he still gets to sit by me. He is hoping that his little sister likes Chris a bunch so he can take her, and Draven gets to keep me. I am sure we will adjust. Today I am sorting through baby stuff and cleaning. I want to be prepared when I go into labor, but I guess it will just happen when I least expect it. Preferably after I have had a shower and put clean clothes on. If I went into labor today, I would be embarassed. I haven't even showered yet. Well, I guess I should get back to work. I am cleaning and listening to The Weepies. This cd is making me an emotional mess. I keep rubbing my belly and feeling sentimental.

MY BOYS ARE SO HANDSOME!!!
