Belly Pics...

I have had such a hard time with belly pictures this pregnancy. Last time was easy. I would set the camera in the same spot (Lillie's room) and set the timer. Perfect belly pic each time. I haven't found that perfect spot. I like the camera to only capture my belly, that way if I look like crap it doesn't matter. I haven't been posting pics because all of my pregnancy shots look bad. I either catch my flabby arms, chicken neck, or funny face in the frame. Don't want that. Just belly. Also, my belly is so much bigger this time. I don't want to look fat. I want to look "pregnant cute". Not happening this time. So I tried last night in various places to get the perfect shot. Wasn't going to happen. I did get shots that are postable. Just not great. At least I can share with the world the big ol' belly I am carrying around.

This was my first attempt. The camera goes off and I notice Lillie in the bathroom taking care of business. Nice.
This one was a little crooked but a decent shot.
This one makes my belly button look like it has a glowing red nose like Rudolph. I think it is part of the flash.

I was so small my last pregnancy. Here's a picture a month before Lillie was born. Apx 30-32 weeks.

Battle for Babies...

I haven't blogged about the last March of Dimes event because I was to preoccupied with it to blog about it. Also, I wanted people to be excited about the event and not hear all the boring (and stressful) planning. Now that it is done, I will show you the final product in pictures!

Working! Not just gossiping, I promise.
Stuffing the chocolate raffles in their pretty little boxes.

The restaurants were asked to create their own unique look for each table.
Check out the fish in the vases. There are big fish in the big vase and little ones in the little vases.
Blurry, but I promise it was very pretty!
The judges table!

Volunteers hard at it!

Our table ready for dinner!
Cute dancers! They came out dancing to Be Our Guest.
Dinner!
Our Chef for the evening...
Rusty was getting fed by two chefs. That makes for 8 courses! Luckily he shared. Mike is taking a bit.

Lil' Gymnast...

Saturday was Hazel's birthday Party at Oklahoma Gold Gym in Edmond. The party was so much fun! The kids played, ate cake, and played some more.
The kids seemed to all like the three person swing and the tunnels. Lillie was a bit more adventurous and enjoyed the rope wall and zip line.
She was so into the gym toys and fearless that the coach invited Lillie to join her Wednesday tumble class. Lillie has such a little body but a lot of upper body strength so she is perfect for gymnastics. Of course, Chris and I are already dreaming about gymnastic scholarships for college. We'll let you know how it goes on Wednesday after her first class.

week 16 (and doc appointment)...

Here's a little info for week 16!

Your baby now weighs in at a whopping three to five ounces, and he's four to five inches in length. The bones that are now in place in his ears means he can probably hear your voice as you talk to your partner and pals and sing in the car. While he’s getting used to your voice, the tiny muscles in his body, especially the ones in his back, are gaining strength, so he can straighten out a little more. And thanks to his developing facial muscles, your baby is capable of making a few expressive frowns and squints, even at this early stage. (Don’t worry, those frowns have nothing to do with the sound of your voice!) And his eyes are finally working, making small side-to-side movements and perceiving light (although the eyelids are still sealed). Peekaboo!

Yesterday I went to the doctor for a checkup. It was the first time that Chris has been able to go with me. I was very excited about the appointment until Chris got a phone call. It was OKCPD (I think) calling to tell him that they found his friend dead in his apartment. Chris was the only one they could get a hold of. He was the emergency contact listed for the apartment complex. So the day that I hoped would be full of excitement was full of questions, anxiety, and sadness. Chris did tell me he liked the doctor. This was Lillie's first time meeting Dr. H too. She had seen Dr. M (the perinatal doctor) but not my regular ob. Lillie had a lot of questions for Dr. H. She asked if her baby was getting big too. Dr. H took the time to pay attention to Lillie and her "pregnancy" questions. Both Lillie and Chris got to hear Lil' Dude's heartbeat. For whatever reason, this doctor's appointment got me excited about being pregnant. Don't know what triggered it. Here are the appointment details for those of you that care....

Weight gain total: 7lbs! I thought this was high, but doc says it is fine and she would tell me if I was gaining too much. I am still in the average range. I want to slow done the weight gain. I don't plan to eat less, just better choices and more exercise. I forgot to get my prenatal yoga doctor's release signed so I am going to fax that in this week. Also, since I am feeling better, I am going to start back up at the Y.
Blood pressure: It was 122/66. This is my biggest fear. My blood pressure sky rocketed out of nowhere with Lillie. At one point it was as high as 133/108 (at least that is the highest I ever typed in my blog). When it gets that high (for me at least) I swelled up and got blinding headaches. Not to mention what it was doing to my Lil' Hen.
Baby's Heart rate: She found Lil' Dude's heart beat right away and then he "ran" away. It took her a few more minutes to find it again. He is a busy Lil' guy. It was first in the 150's then when he settled down it was around 145.

That's about it for now. I am getting excited to see if Lil' Dude is really a dude. My ultrasound is on the 27th. I can't freakin' wait!

The weekend in pictures...

We had so much going on this weekend. Started off Saturday with Tucker's blessing. No pics.
Then we took Lillie to her first concert!
Here's skating polly. That is an 11 year old singing and a 13 year old on drums. Pretty cool, huh? And... They are a punk band. Very cool.
Heres Lillie's favorite band, The Feel Spectres!
All the groupies! Notice Lillie's signature shrug pose. She doesn't even smile anymore. Just a shrug.
Checkout those big girl panties!
Lillie watching American Boyfriends.

Lillie playing video games at the Roller Rink. We went to watch our friend Ginger (G. Injure) in her roller derby bout. Go Battle Squad!
Lillie getting high fives from the girls.
Check out that halo!
Lillie climbed her first tree at church. I was so nervous, Chris was spotting her.

That's it. A wonderful weekend. Lots of fun and we are all pooped!

reunion...

Guess who's back? Thanks to Papa, Lillie and Ne-Ne have been reunited!

15 weeks...

Still trying to get used to being pregnant again. Or maybe I am just so used to being pregnant it doesn't feel like a big deal. I have a good feeling about this pregnancy. I didn't with Lillie. Of course I didn't have major concerns until the 3rd trimester. I just started the 2nd. At times I am excited, sometimes it seems like this is the slowest pregnancy in history, and other times I tell myself this could be my last so I better enjoy it and make it last. I guess i have a lot of mixed feelings. I think a lot about Lillie's birth a lot. What a shocker. I compare the two a lot. I am definitely a lot bigger this time! I don't think it is weight gain as much as just a lot of stretching. My belly knows the routine and is getting ready for the baby to grow. People are starting to tell me I am really starting to show. No one ever said that with Lillie. I guess that is a good thing.
Here's the details for the week.
Really starting to feel good. Less fatigue and morning sickness. I am starting to have some round ligament pain or something that feels like it is stretching.
Weird dreams are starting and I am not liking it.
Can't sleep through the night (but Lillie does!)
Starting to feel baby move. Still questionable, but pretty sure it's baby most of the time.
Have three appointments this month; regular checkout, blood work, and finally on the 27th I find out if Lil' Dude is really a Dude.
Getting some serious cravings. Yesterday it was a fried egg sandwich on white toast, something I never eat. It was delicious. Still not craving sweet stuff like I did with Lillie. Mostly salty goodies.
I still think it is a boy. Lillie now tells me she wants a sister. Draven informed me he doesn't want a baby brother. Not much I can do about it kids.
Weather has been nice so I am finally wearing my maternity clothes daily. No more jogging shorts and tank tops!
Hoping to start a prenatal yoga class this month after I get docs approval.
I think that is it...
I will be 16 week on Sunday. Here's my belly shot at 15 weeks and 5 days...
