4th of July

What a great weekend. It all started Thursday with cake baking at my sister's house. No, I didn't win. I am no longer bitter. Congratulations to my sister and her boring (I mean beautiful) cake! Friday we went to the park for our annual 4th festivities. We had great food, a cake walk (which I did win) and free beer. Lillie's favorite part was the swings! Draven enjoyed the golf. Chris stayed at the park to chat while me and the kiddos went to visit my grandparents. I didn't think I would have time. It was either take a nap or visit them. I am glad I went out there. We had a great visit! After that, we picked Chris up and headed to church for another cookout. It was lots of fun, great food, even better desserts. We drove around after church to find the best spot to view all of the fireworks. We ended up on the river with a view of fireworks all around us. When we got home Draven and his friend Isaiah shot off more fireworks.


Saturday we got up and decided to find something different to do. We headed to a small town about an hour away. They were having a blackberry festival. The festival wasn't great, but the drive was. We also did some antique shopping while we hit the small towns on the way. Later that night we finally got to reconnect with some of our long lost friends. Many of them we haven't seen since Lillie was born. Good times. We will all have to get together for a dinner party soon.


Sunday we had Chris family over for ribeyes. The food was fantastic. Sounds like the whole weekend revolved around food. I guess it did.

Lillie at 5 months...

Now that Lillie is 5 months old it is like she is changing everyday. She has learned many new "tricks." Here are some of her new things the can do.
She bares weight on her legs while holding to our fingers.
She can roll over on her stomach.
She can raise her chest when on stomach.
She puts everything in her mouth.
She loves toys!
She will let us feed her cereal with a spoon.
She ate a cracker for the first time.
She is making new sounds all the time.
She found her feet.
She went swimming in a big pool.
She loves to hear her daddy laugh and talk.
She went to her first movie... Young at Heart.
She ate her first cracker.
That's all I can think of for now. I wish I would of started posting these things month by month when she was born. The first few months were a little slow....

Yes, my blog sucks...

My sister confirmed what I already new. My blog is starting to suck. So, I have to do a few quick post so that I can catch up. Here we go...
Draven went to camp last week. It was his fourth year at Saint Crispin's. He loves camp. Every year we stop at the Catfish Roundup for the best catfish in Oklahoma. I go for the blue cheese dressing and apple fritters. Yummy stuff.
This year Brooke went with us so that she could check it out. She wants to go next year.

These pics are from when I picked Draven up from camp. They are a happy group of kids. I asked Draven what he liked most. He said "all of it." I asked what he didn't like, he said "leaving." He was truly sad to leave.


Not only am I a blog slacker, I am a photo slacker too. My brother and his family were in town and I didn't take very many pics.
This is the only good one.

While Draven was at camp we went out for sushi and a walk. We walked through the Oklahoma City Memorial, as you can see... it made Lillie sad.

This was the most random thing. The dead pigeon and picture were place on the sidewalk. The wind was blowing but neither of them moved. It was like someone glued the both down as a statement. The picture is of some kind of construction machinery. Weird.

Lillie came down with another cold over a week ago. We took her back to the doctor and she confirmed it was just a cold. She said to give it a week to ten days to run its course. By the 10th day she was much worse and started running a fever. We had to take her back to the doctor. She told us it was now a sinus infection. Poor thing had to get back on an antibiotic. A day after she went to the doctor, I caught her cold. Here we are sick in bed together.

Ok, now I think I am caught up. I guess that means I can start posting about current things like... The annual Fourth of July cake decorating contest. This is the first year that my sister and husband are competing against me. They have no idea what they are up against. I have one seven times!!! Here's this years cake.

WATONGA...

If you are from Oklahoma, when you here Watonga you automatically think of cheese. That is why Draven and I decided it would be fun to take a road trip with Papa to Watonga to go his brother's 80th birthday. We got there early so we could go to Roman Nose State park to eat. I actually thought it might good. I ordered the serloin, salad, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. They forgot my salad, my serloin was burnt, black and crisp. The mashed potatoes were hard and dry. You could actually break up pieces of them. YUCK! I had to tell the waitress I could eat the food. She had to just take it away. I ate a little of the salad (that she brought out after my meal.) They offered to get me something else, but I told them I wouldn't eat anything out of that kitchen. They didn't charge us for my meal. After that we were going to Watonga Cheese Factory. It was closed due to a storm a year ago! I was so dissappointed. We decided to go antique shopping, nope all of them were closed on Saturday. We found one that was open but they decided to close down early at 1:30pm. We went on to the party. They held it in the most depressing place. It was this concrete building in the middle of this ghetto park. It didn't have windows, just a metal door and florecent lighting inside. It was awful. I thought I would see all of these long lost realatives that would be glad to see me. Instead it was a bunch of people that could careless that I was there. Oh well. I got to spend time with my dad. Other than that, it was a waist of a Saturday.




When we got home Draven we over to a friends for a sleepover. Chris, Lillie and me went to the neighborhood music fest. That was fun.

Friday night we decided to go out. We ended up at Red Rock on the lake. They had an hour wait so we walked around the lake and had a few beers. That place is such a meat market, but the food is fantastic! I had the meatloaf and Chris had the cluck and moo. Both were awesome, but the best thing on the menu is their Key Lime Pie. Chris got that to go for me because Lillie was ready for bed.

If you can tell in the picture, she is wearing the most beautiful dress. When I came home from work there was three dresses in a gift bag. We have no idea who they are from, but we love them. So, if it is someone who reads this blog, THANK YOU!

How cute are they? I get the best pictures of Chris and Lille. I never get any good ones of me and the girl.


She loves being with her Mommy, but Chris doesn't know how to get her to smile and take a picture.

I had a great idea that we would walk after dinner and do routine by the lake. We were going to get her in her jammies and feed her. She didn't not like the idea.
