After that we headed to Lillie's first home, Mercy hospital. We dropped off all of Lillie's preemie clothes that she has out grown. We really appreciated all of the clothes that they let us use in the NICU. Now some other baby will get to use Lillie's clothes. Maybe they will help another baby grow to be big and strong. We didn't get to see many of the nurses, but a few. We did manage to make it to the cafeteria for our favorite lunch. There was something comforting about going back there with Lillie. We did some shopping after that and bought her a few new outfits. The outfits we got are actually the same brand and designs that they had displayed in the case outside of the NICU advertising the gift shop. Strange. After all the fun we had to take Lillie to her 2 month checkup. She was weighed and measured. She weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces, her head is 14 1/2 around, and she is 20 1/2 inches long. Way to Lillie. Dr. Dooley also gave us suggestions on getting Lillie to sleep longer. She told us we need to feed her and lay her down in her crib (we moved her to her room last week) and let her cry. Don't pick her up, just reassure her that we are there. Now for the sad news. She cried her first tear today. She had to have 4 shots. Poor thing cried then just held on to me. On the way out of the office I saw her first tear run down her check. She also took Tylenol for the first time today. She had some before the shots and it helped some. I went to get a pedicure this afternoon and by the time I got home she was a mess. She stayed home with Poppy and he said she had been very fussy. I rocked her and gave her more medicine. Poor thing. She is now back in bed. I hope the pain starts to lessen. She doesn't get another dose until 2 am. My sweet baby.
Well that is about it for now. We just ate Poppy's homemade brawts. Pretty darn good for his first attempt. Now we are getting ready to watch Anthony Bourdain. He makes me happy.
I am not counting on getting much sleep tonight, but I don't care. I just want to make my baby feel better.
Here's a picture of happy Lillie before we left today.
