Busy day...

Chris was off today so we ran errands. We started off with a trip to go see Randy. Chris still likes to pay his bills in person like his grandfather used to do. Randy handles our mortgages, etc... Lillie got her first coke and pen. Thanks Randy!

After that we headed to Lillie's first home, Mercy hospital. We dropped off all of Lillie's preemie clothes that she has out grown. We really appreciated all of the clothes that they let us use in the NICU. Now some other baby will get to use Lillie's clothes. Maybe they will help another baby grow to be big and strong. We didn't get to see many of the nurses, but a few. We did manage to make it to the cafeteria for our favorite lunch. There was something comforting about going back there with Lillie. We did some shopping after that and bought her a few new outfits. The outfits we got are actually the same brand and designs that they had displayed in the case outside of the NICU advertising the gift shop. Strange. After all the fun we had to take Lillie to her 2 month checkup. She was weighed and measured. She weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces, her head is 14 1/2 around, and she is 20 1/2 inches long. Way to Lillie. Dr. Dooley also gave us suggestions on getting Lillie to sleep longer. She told us we need to feed her and lay her down in her crib (we moved her to her room last week) and let her cry. Don't pick her up, just reassure her that we are there. Now for the sad news. She cried her first tear today. She had to have 4 shots. Poor thing cried then just held on to me. On the way out of the office I saw her first tear run down her check. She also took Tylenol for the first time today. She had some before the shots and it helped some. I went to get a pedicure this afternoon and by the time I got home she was a mess. She stayed home with Poppy and he said she had been very fussy. I rocked her and gave her more medicine. Poor thing. She is now back in bed. I hope the pain starts to lessen. She doesn't get another dose until 2 am. My sweet baby.

Well that is about it for now. We just ate Poppy's homemade brawts. Pretty darn good for his first attempt. Now we are getting ready to watch Anthony Bourdain. He makes me happy.

I am not counting on getting much sleep tonight, but I don't care. I just want to make my baby feel better.

Here's a picture of happy Lillie before we left today.

Lillie at the hospital cafeteria. Mommy and Poppy ate her many times, but never with her.

Lillie right now after crying for so long. She is now asleep and doing fine. I put on her prettiest gown so she would feel special. She feels so bad but looks so pretty.

quick post...

I had the best night's sleep. Chris took care of Lillie until 4 am. I got to sleep from 11pm-4am. Wow! He was up making his brawts and then couldn't fall asleep so he decided to let Lillie just hang out with him. She slept on and off downstairs while he cooked. Then at 4 they both hit a wall. I felt like I slept forever. Now it is 8:30 and they are both still in bed. They are beat. I am wide awake. I want to go take my walk early this morning but I needed my baby. I guess I should eat breakfast.

Sunday...

I decided Lillie needed to wear her Valentine outfit with her Halloween black cat hat and shoes. We like to mix things up in our house even when it is not Easter-Ween.

Got to say I am worn out today. Lillie didn't sleep well last night, that's nothing new. I cleaned this morning. Around noon Lillie and I went for a walk with Auntie Lo. It was a great walk. We found some new fountains and the flowers were beautiful. After that we went to a few open houses. We found a great house for Marla. I hope she moves home soon or at least visits soon. Then we went shopping for Chris to make homemade brawts. Tonight we went to Aunt Gum's house for dinner and Wii. Now I am beat. I am ready for my bath and gossip rag.

So tired...

I didn't get any good pics last night. I guess I was too busy drinking and talking.

This time Lillie isn't to blame. We had Chris birthday week and it just ended last night. Actually ended this morning around 2 am. We had his family over for dinner last night. He cooked a wonderful meal as always. We had Greek salad, octopus salad, taboli, couscous, lamb, grilled veggies, shrimp, hummus, and much more that I just can't remember. We worked our butts off getting everything done in time. This is the first dinner party that we have every had with Lillie. That makes it tough. After dinner I managed to knock back a couple of bottles of champagne. Everyone went home by midnight so me, Chris and Draven decided to stay up and watch bee movie. I don't know what I was thinking. Lillie woke up about 3 am and I was so tired! This morning I actually got out of bed and cleaned the house. Lillie was pretty good. Chris was out with a friend and Draven slept in. Now we are babysitting Luc and Sophie. I don't think it actually counts as babysitting. They just play with Draven. We don't have to do anything but buy the pizza. Lillie is in bed and Chris is watching the Godfather. I am hoping to make it up for Saturday Night Live. I hope it doesn't suck.

Sleeping like a baby...

My dad something that cracked me up. I asked him how he was sleeping with his back pain. He replied "Like a baby, I wake up every two hours crying." Well, last night Lillie slept like a toddler. She was so fussy yesterday!!!! It was so bad that I went for my walk without her. I just had to get away. By the time I got home Poppy had her asleep in his arms. We put her in her crib at 8:30. She slept till 1:30 am. WOW! She was pretty calm when she woke up, but didn't go back to sleep until around 2:30. Then she was up again at 4 am (Poppy's shift.) She was up and fussy for about an hour and is now still sleeping at 8 am. That is incredible! She seems to be doing pretty well in her crib and I think we are sleeping better. It is nice not waking up to every peep.

Now that I have a few moments to myself I will post some pictures that I haven't had time to post from the past few days. I can't believe I have got anything done lately. We are having Chris' birthday tonight with his family. I got the whole house cleaned and decorated all with a fussy baby in hand. I think I was having a super mom moment.

Lillie at the park on Chris birthday. We went for a walk with Auntie Lo before the party got started. It was beautiful out, now it is cold again.

Draven spent the evening trying to figure out the Simpson theme song on the piano. He figured it out, now he is working on it for guitar.

Look at my big girl doing her tummy time. She really likes it and is getting so strong!

no sleep for the weary...

I am too tired to get my camera from upstairs. I will upload yesterday's pics after a few more cups of coffee.
Well, we thought Lillie was doing better. We were wrong. She slept like a baby till about 3 am then decided she was going to be awake for Poppy's shift. I am determined to figure out how to get her back to a normal schedule. We are both the walking dead this morning. Chris is at work now and Lillie is upstairs (not asleep.) I am trying to eat my breakfast and get in my computer time while she is in a good mood. As long as her mobile is playing, I have a moment to myself...
It just stopped. Now she is crying. Got to go.

A FEW PICS...

Draven at Gil's new restaurant downtown.

Chris and I planned on spending the day together. Around lunch time he got a call that he was to be in court at 1:30. The call was at 1:30 and court was an hour away. Now I have a few minutes to catch up. Marla's mom is on her way over to see Lillie. Then, hopefully, I will get my car this afternoon. I had to try and drive Chris' "attorney fee pickup." It doesn't have power steering. I guess he had been putting steering fluid in it and now it is out. I couldn't get the beast out of my driveway. It was quite a scene. I should of taken a picture of Lillie in her carseat in the back of that truck. Made me feel like I was back in Guthrie. Anyway, here are my latest photos.

Leaving Courtney's house on the way to lunch.

I guess Poppy's birthday wore Lillie out. I sat her down for a minute to sweep up and this is what I return to. I think I might be one of those lucky parents whose kid falls asleep at the drop of a hat. She did this to us last night. She just gets tired and crashes without a peep. Well, not all of the time... Just if she is in the right mood.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Poppy!

Today is Chris birthday so pardon the short post.
Quick summary for the last few days.
Lillie has been cranky! She hasn't slept well at all. On Sunday she was having reflux again. Didn't sleep at all that night. Monday she just cried all day except during our walk. Monday night she didn't sleep. Tuesday she went out with me and Poppy. We spent the day running around. She slept the whole day. When we got home she woke up. I didn't let her go back to sleep. I changed her clothes, gave her a bath, then a massage, we ate, watched a movie, then I laid her down in her crib wide awake. In about 5 minutes, without a fuss, she was asleep. I think she was worn out from the last few nights. She slept pretty well last night. About 4 am she woke up and was fussy. This morning she is doing well. She laid around while I made Poppy breakfast in bed. Then I cleaned up and she laid around some more. She started to get fussy so Poppy read to her and she is now asleep. Chris and I are going to run errands again today. Right now he is putting together his Birthday prestent. I need to go help, but will post more later with pictures.

HAPPY EASTER-WEEN...

We had a great Easter. Well at least everyone but Chris. He ended up with the stomach bug. It hit him right after church. We made our rounds despite his sickness. Lillie got a chance to meet all of her fans, including some of her little cousins. They have been dying to hold her!
This is a picture of Lillie's cousin Sophie and her best friend.

Here's Big Brother Sraven holding Lillie.

Lillie spit up a bunch at Aunt Jenn and Jay's house. She was already wearing her emergency change of clothes. I asked Aunt Jenn for something for her to wear. I was thinking a big something of Kate's. My sister is too prepared! She already had Lillie's halloween outfit (size 6-9 months.) It was a little big, but better than wearing dirty wet clothes.
This outfit just cracked me up! We went from Easter to Halloween all in one day.
Happy Easter-Ween!

Cousin Brooke did such a great job holding and feeding Lillie!

Saturday Morning Walk...

Lillie and I went for a walk Saturday morning. At first we planned on going around the neighborhood. Lillie requested visiting the ducks at OU medical. After saying Hi to the ducks we decided to keep walking around OU. I never realized how huge that campus is. We walked all over the place. It is funny that it is just a few blocks away, but something we have never explored. We usually go around the capitol (another great walking place.) We have all of these great spots around our house filled with pretty gardens and fountains. Just love it!

Today is Easter morning and Lillie's big day to show off. I am going to have my morning coffee while Lillie is resting with Poppy. Every morning she gets up about 6 am and Poppy brings her in bed with us to listen to the radio. She is quit the snuggler.

Oh, and last night... She only woke up twice!

Big Post..

I like to post my pictures in groups of events. Some days we just have so much going on it is easier to post in one big post. The past twenty four hours have been pretty eventful (our lives are pretty boring.)

I'll start with last night. Draven went to go stay at his dad's house so Chris and I decided to have a date night... with Lillie. It went pretty well. At this age all she does is eat and sleep. Of course she woke up and wanted to eat right when our food came out. The food was just ok, the company was great! Once we got home Chris kangarooed. It had been such a long time. Lillie didn't like it at first but once Poppy started to sing she fell asleep. It's funny how you work so hard to get them to sleep but once they are asleep you just want to hold them and stare at them. She is at her best when she is asleep. We laid in bed (with Lillie on my chest) and watched No Country for Old Men. Got to say, that movie was incredible! Loved every minute of it.

Last night Lillie slept really well. Actually, she has been sleeping longer and longer every night. We have figured out that she sleeps an hour for every once she eats. She can take up to 4 ounces at once. That means for hours of sleep! She woke up in a pretty good mood. She had an appointment with Sooner Start at 9 a.m. If only they would of started right at 9, she might of made it through all of the testing without getting fussy.

Sooner Start testing Lillie. These ladies were so sweet. Lillie was tested at an 8 week level even though she is 4 weeks adjusted age. She had to have a few low scores to qualify for the program. Her motor skills were one of the things that helped her qualify. Since she is so little she hasn't done any tummy time. She was so little we didn't work on that. Now that she is bigger they say it is important. They gave us an idea of what toys to buy to catch her attention. Once Sooner Start was over we had to go shopping for toys!

Remember the days at NICU when she would get weighed daily? Chris and I just couldn't wait to find out how much she gained. One of the ladies actually had a baby scale in her car. She weighed and measured Lillie. Her last doctors appointment was about 10 days ago and she weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces. Drum Roll....
Today she weighed 7 pounds and is 20 inch long!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go Lillie!

While we were out shopping we decided to look for an Easter outfit. Now that she is the size of a newborn she has more of a selection. How cute is this!?
We actually bought two Easter outfits because we couldn't decide which one to get. The other one we will use for a regular church outfit. This one had to be for Easter. I just can't get over how cute she looks!

Well that is it for now. Poppy is going to church for Good Friday service. Me and cranky Lillie are staying home. Draven is still at his dads. Lots going on over the next few days. I will make sure to post more photos.

For Aunt Shell and Uncle Aaron..

Remember that outfit you bought for Lillie at Christmas? Well, she can finally wear it! She has moved out of her premie stuff and is now able to wear some newborn clothes. I wash them all in hot water first to shrink them a bit. Thought you guys would want to see how much she has grown. She is almost the size of a newborn baby (at 2 months old.) Can't wait for you to see her in person.

ZOO TRIP...

We just got back from the zoo. It was the perfect outing! We showed up around 10:30and it was already packed. The parking lot was full and the back up parking was almost full. We waited in line to get in for about 15 minutes, but once we were it it wasn't too bad. On days like today when it is so crowded you have to go in with the mind set that you are not going to let people ruin your day. There are a lot of rude pushy people. We just tried to avoid the crowds and have a good time. When we left Lillie was asleep, at the zoo.. asleep, now we are home... she is still asleep. I think that means she had fun? Now it is 2:30 and Chris is on his way home. Draven is going to stay at his Dad's house. I am going to enjoy this beautiful weather. Tomorrw Lillie is having her first Sooner Start appointment. Can't wait to see how she does. This will tell us if she is behind since she was born a little early and what to expect as far as her developement goes. I will give my update tomorrow.
