Church Camp...

Ever since Lillie found out that Draven was going to Church Camp (week long overnight camp) she has decided she wanted to do the same. We told her that if she would wear panties she could go. She decided it was worth it. We had lots of accidents along the way, but when Monday came we sent her on her way in pullups. Of course this isn't overnight camp, it is VBS. It doesn't matter to Lillie, she is big and she knows it. She may be one of the smallest kids at VBS, but she doesn't know it!
Draven volunteered the first three days of VBS to get her settled in. Thursday he worked at the horse ranch and Friday he had his surgery. Lillie was on her own the last two days and she did just fine. Friday was the big end of the week party and cookout. Chris joined her while I was at the hospital with Draven. She loved it! I don't know what is going to happen on Monday and she doesn't get to go. I am sure there will be tears. She loved church camp!

tonsillectomy... (graphic post!)

Before surgery...

As of 8:20 am today, Draven no longer has tonsils! The poor kid has battled chronic strep throat for years. He gets it at least 4 times a year. Finally, a doctor recommended we get his tonsils removed. I was a little nervous about it since he is such a big guy. Usually it is easier on younger kids.
We got up this morning and headed to the hospital at 7am. Draven was very nervous about the anesthesia. Surgery was at 8 am and he was done by 8:20. By 9:30 am we were heading home. Draven was a little loopy, but seemed to be doing fine. He has already had tons of applesauce, jello, pudding, gaterade, and anything else cold and soft. He is resting now and should be feeling fine in no time!

After surgery...

Yes, they let you keep them!

Hero for Babies...

My sister asked if Lillie and I would be willing to do an interview for Farmers Be a Hero for Babies Day. Of course we said yes! We and two other ambassador families were interviewed along with Gerald McCoy. No offense to Gerald, but I had no idea who he was.
Lillie had a blast playing with Besty and showing off. That girl is such a ham! I wish I could see a copy of the interview, but I think it was a live web feed to Farmer's employees only. Maybe it will surface one day.

4 weeks and 5 days...

Lillie wanted to show me her baby belly.
Not a lot going on with this belly. Looks like it did a month ago...
Symptoms: I have to pee every hour. Sore boobs.

I told a few more people yesterday... Now my family, Chris' family, and a few close friends know the good news... Also, I made my first doctor's appointment yesterday. I will be seeing Dr. Hall on August (Friday) 13th at 10:30. I have butterflies in my stomach. My biggest concern at the moment is health insurance. Did I mention we don't have maternity coverage? That is why we were going to wait until fall to conceive. Our insurance doesn't go in to effect until April 28th and the baby is due March 27th. Oops. Hopefully we will figure it all out...

Lil' Fishy...

Lillie loves to swim! She is completely fearless of the water. She has learned how to kick to get where she needs to go and now has learned how to jump in!

Camp Crispin...

Draven is at camp for the 6th year in a row! How is that possible??? We did our usually reutine and stopped at Catfish Cabin on the way. Not as great as it has been in the past. After we drop him off we usually walk around camp and talk about how much we (chris and I) love the place. It was just too hot this time. They even did the registration inside this year. I am sure they will take good care of those kids in the heat, but it worries me a little. Draven likes his comfort. At least they have a/c in the cabins now. This year Draven was not excited about going, but I hope he has more fun than he expected. He took his ukulele. He has another good friend that is bringing his as well. Hopefully, they can keep each other entertained playing their instruments. That ukulele is a lot easier to take with him compared to his guitar.
Here are a few pics from drop off.

oops, I did it again....

I am posting this on July 20th 2010. I will not actually publish it to my blog until later. Not sure when yet. So here it goes...
Chris and I are having another baby! It happened a little sooner than expected (like Lillie). We are hoping for an easier go around this time. I will be starting new with a new (much better) doctor that was highly recommended to me. Unlike last time, we went ahead and started telling our family immediately. This time my father was the first to know (he was last last time because he was out of town with Draven). Once the cat was out of the bag we told the rest of my family, except Draven (he is at camp) and then Chris' family. Everyone seems supportive and happy for us. We are very excited as well.
As I did previously, I will post and update as much as possible. I just don't want to post to my blog right away since it feeds into my facebook page. I am not quite ready to tell the whole world (even though I want to!!!!).

Here's my first belly shot at 4 weeks and 2 days. I use my timer for the photos like last time. Chris and Lillie (she just got out of the tub) wanted to be in the first shot. The camera cut Chris' head out of the shot. But you can tell he is smiling!

We closed!

On Friday July 16th we closed on our first vacation home! We are so excited and wish we could be there everyday. Friday we went to Langley for the closing then back to the house to spend the night. There were way too many spiders in the house for us to be sleeping on the floor. We ended up in Grove to eat and find a hotel. We discovered Rheingarten's (I think that's right). It was wonderful German food. And then we found a cheap hotel that was clean and convenient, just right down the street.
When we got up, Papa met us at the house and helped us mow "the jungle" which is our front yard. We met all of our neighbors and got a lot of the history of our house and the previous owner.
I didn't take any photos of the house since I already have a bunch. Most of these photos are from Langley and the kids swimming in our new lake neighborhood.

4th of July...

Making our first homemade ice cream. We plan on taking the ice cream maker to the lake house. This will be a new Henry Family Tradition!
Lillie had to change clothes because it started to get cold outside.
Tasting the ice cream!
Mom double checking to make sure it really does taste good. And it did!
Party across the street.
Jack and Lillie making their first s'mores.
Eating their first s'mores. They decided they liked making them more than eating them.

Laura eating a s'more!
Henry with a s'more!
Lillie eating Ryan's ice cream.
Lillie and Don playing Apples to Apples.
Our self portrait while watching the fireworks on Lincoln.

What a busy weekend! We didn't think we would have much time to do anything fun. We have 3 properties to work on plus one of them I have been showing all weekend. We did however, make time to hang with friends and enjoy our weekend. Saturday night we had Auntie Lo, Hazel, and our neighbor Don over for dinner. We hung out outside and watched the kids play in the slip in slide. Later our neighbors from across the street, Bill and Laura, joined us. Around 11pm we heard the downtown fireworks so I took Lillie to go check them out. She was a little nervous at first and then decided they were pretty cool. After that we all stayed up talking way too late.
On Sunday we had my dad over and then headed to Bill and Laura's for a rained out cookout. Bill smoked the best brisket! We had brisket tacos, homemade peach ice cream, s'mores, Chris' salsa. The food was fantastic! After we ate we played a game I had never played, Apples to Apples. I would tell you how to play, but I think you just have to experience it.
The whole weekend was tons of fun. Now it is back to working on the rental property today. yuck.
