Sunday at Nanny's

Last night we went to Nanny's house for a cookout. It was so good. We grilled out burgers and had the best toppings. We had guacamole, mushrooms, peppers and onions, blue cheese and a lot of other things. Lillie put on a show for Nanny and was talking and giggling. It was pretty sweet. After dinner Lillie was tired so Nanny and Poppy Jacques rocked her on the porch swing. What a great night.

Today we are getting my trees (if they are open) and I hope to walk around the Paseo Arts Festival if Auntie Lo is up for a walk. Tonight I am forcing myself to get on a bunny (Aunt Gum's word for budget.) I need to do this and today is the perfect day. Maybe we will discover we have so much money we are wasting that it would make more since for me and Lillie to stay at home.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND, SO FAR...

Friday after my haircut I wanted to cookout Kabobs. We bought the stuff to grill out on Wednesday but hadn't had the time to do it. We had the best meal. We grilled beef, green peppers, onions, zucchini, eggplant, and then we had olives hummus and couscous. It was a great dinner and a great way to start the weekend.
Bailey got a taste of the wild life while we were grilling.

Saturday night we went to bricktown for dinner. I have been craving a sangria swirl since I was pregnant. We had a great meal then just walked along the river. Lillie loved the reflections in the water. Draven had a blast driving the stroller. We treated ourselves to Marble Slabs after dinner. We waited in line 45 minutes for ice cream! It was worth it. After that we went home and straight to bed. Today Lillie and I are shopping then going to the park. Tonight we are having a cookout at Nanny's. More yummy food! I will have more pictures tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend.

It's amazing what people will through away.

MY NEW HAIR CUT!

Most of you know that I hate my hair. Not only do I hate it, I never do anything to fix it. Well, I got a wild hair (no pun intended) and decided to cut it off! I just love it. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It is a little blonder and a lot shorter. I can't wait til Chris sees it. How could he not love it?

lillie and kate

I am going to cheat and just tell you to go to Aunt Gum's blog to view her post. It was three nights ago and honestly, I don't remember the details. I do remember there was a bath. Here's a usable pic from the evening. I also added a pic of Kate from last night. Draven babysat her. She loves her cousin Draven.

Draven's award...

I was so excited about my hair cut that I did that post before I did my older post. Here's a picture from the night Draven won the Classen SAS Art Award. Of course he got the special plate and dinner of his choice. He picked Papa Dino's Pizza. Yummy for us all. Way to go Draven!

Swinging!

Lo and I went for our walk tonight. We always circle around the park and never stop to play. I figured Lillie is just too small. Nope, not my girl. She may be small, but she will find a way to get what she wants. We put a few blankets around her and gave it a shot. She loved it. You may not be able to tell by the pictures, but she had a great time. We couldn't get any smiley shots. Maybe next time. I mentioned to Chris that Lillie is having all of these first. She had her first trip to a greenhouse. We went and shopped for my Mother's day trees. Then we went to Furr's today, that was a first.
Here are a few pics of her first swinging.

Little people, Big world...

Lillie is starting to get interested in toys. She is learning to grasp and bring things to her mouth. I want to get her a bouncy seat with toys built in or something that will keep her entertained while she is upright. She likes to be up where she can see everything going on. A light bulb went off this morning and I remembered Kate's toy I stored in the attic. I brought it down and put Lillie in. It just swallowed her. I stuck a pillow behind her so she would fit in the seat a bit more snug. She was so happy! She loves it! Her little feet don't touch the ground, but she can reach for most of the toys. The batteries are dead so it wasn't making any noise. We are on our way to the store to go get some AAA's. I wonder what she will think when it lights up and makes music. Expect a video soon.

Friday night...

Last night we had Lo and Al over for dinner. We had the best meal! Lillie was up for a little bit, then went to sleep before we ate. She has a yucky cold again! Poor thing. After dinner, Lo and I went for a walk. The Harn was having a huge private party that we decided to crash. It was a end of the year blow out for the first year med students. There was some serious drunkenness going on. Way too much Karaoke. Lo had never been to the Harn so we just walked around and checked things out. I wish I would of brought my camera. Lo and I had a great time and Chris and Al had a great time. When all four of us get together we always split up, men vs women. I guess that's fine. Lo and I keep ourselves entertained. I only have a couple of pictures from last night. They are from Lillie's bedtime.

the bird...

BLANK STARE

ANNOYED

BLANK STARE

Every day when I get home from work and Lillie is up from her afternoon nap we do photoshoot. She has been smiling for sometime now, but I can't get a good picture. Everytime she sees my camera she gets this blank stare. Today was no different. I took a few photos and Lillie became annoyed. At the very end of the photo shoot I got a smile....

I am pretty sure that isn't all I got.

Is Lillie giving me the bird?

Mother's Day weekend.

Lillie snoozing when we came to pick her up.

The only picture I have from our date night. This is Chris at the bar before dinner.

Lillie's hair is really growing. This is how she wore it for Mother's day.

We won!

Sophie, Mimi, Gwen, and Lillie

Another weekend gone already. Let me sum up where the time went. Friday night Chris and I had a date night. Draven and Lillie stayed at Aunt Sis and Uncle Bear's house while we went to an Exchange banquet. Before we headed out we stopped at Red Rooster and had a beer. I hadn't been to a bar in years, literally. It was nice to sit and talk. After that we headed to the Sportsman Club for dinner and a very long banquet. The dinner was fantastic as usual. The banquet was just a little drawn out. I have a hard time staying awake after 9pm. This was over around 9:30. Thank goodness for the coffee. Lillie and Draven seemed to enjoy themselves. Once we all got home we crashed.
Saturday we went to Chris cousin's house for croquet and dinner. I won't go into details. I will hit the highlights. We won at croquet and I drank WAY too much champagne. As they say on Seinfeld... I drank a bunch of champagne and Ya-da-Ya-da-Ya-da.... I woke up feeling like crap.
So Sunday I didn't feel like doing much. Lillie gave me the best gift of all. She let me sleep in. After snoozing off and on most of the morning we went to see the other mothers in our lives. I stopped at my sister's house, then off to Chris' mother's house, then back to my sister's house to see my mother. Once I got home Chris gave me my Mother's day gift. I can't wait to play with it. It is landscaping software and he is buying me trees! We are redoing our backyard. It will be great to see the trees grow as Lillie grows.
That basically sums up my weekend. I have to say I am worn out. I want to get my jammies on and it is only 5pm. Maybe a good night sleep and I will be good as new.

PAINT FOOT...

Here's what caused Lillie's Paint Foot (see post Hand Foot Mouth.) They had used orange for the first two paintings. I couldn't understand how that would turn her foot red. Now I see she had been working on a surprise Mother's Day project for me. It was with red paint.

Sooner start, library, sushi...

Yesterday we had Sooner Start come out to the house and check on Lillie. We were told that we all scored an A+ on our homework. Our homework included cooing and smiling. She is doing lots of both. The weighed 10 pounds! She smiled and cooed then got cranky and was ready for a nap. This months homework includes making funny faces and having her touch our mouth, putting weight on her legs, and grasping. She will ace it again next month.
After Sooner Start we went to the library and checked out a few books. Chris got books on cooking, Draven got books on Star Wars, and I got a book on getting your baby to sleep all night. We were right across the street from "our" sushi restaurant so we went in to give it a try. It was our first time eating there. It was yummy. Draven really likes the tuna, California rolls, and eel. He sure is more adventurous than he used to be.
Tonight we are going to a banquet and Lillie is going over to Aunt Sis' house. This will be our first time leaving Lillie somewhere. Draven's cousin Luc was dying to see Draven so it was a good trade for Nicole and Bill. Draven babysits Luc and they babysit Lillie. We have lots of plans this weekend. We are going to Tulsa to see Chris' family. Hope to get lots of picture. My pictures have been boring lately. I am going to work on that.

Hand foot mouth disease...

Or, otherwise known as... Painted Foot!
So, Lillie does "art projects" at baby town with her feet. So far she has done a fish, flower, and a carrot. She has a very talented foot. Well, a few nights ago Draven noticed the bottoms of Lillie's feet were red. Not like painted red, like a bad burn red. It was strange, but I didn't worry too much. The next day I noticed her foot seemed to be more red. I decided it had to be a foot alergy. I called Dr. Sis (aka Aunt Sis) to diagnose over the phone. I mentioned to her there was a rash on Lillie's foot. She said "it sounds like foot, mouth, hand disease." I told her I would bring Lillie over to have her foot examanied. Aunt Sis looked at it for a few minutes and quickly came up with a cure. She came back in to the kitchen with soap and a wash cloth. The soap foam soon turned pink. Lillie's foot was stained! We give her a bath every night, but it is more of a rinse and play. Not a lot of scrubbing needed for a baby. Her foot is no longer red. She has been cured. Next time I am at Baby Town I will take a few pics of her foot paintings. So sweet.

Bath time with Mommy...

I can't post pictures of the bath, but I can post pictures of my sweet girl after her bath with her Mommy. She just loved it! We had bubbles and she kicked and squealed. After she was done I put her in a gown and she smelled like roses. Oh, she is just so precious tonight. There is nothing better than a sleepy baby, in jammies, fresh out of the tub, that wants to snuggle. I just finished rocking her. I am so glad that I took pictures before she went to bed. If not, I might be hoovering over her watching her sleep.
