Lillie's green thumb...

Lillie had another big day. This morning she helped Daddy read the paper, then helped Mommy do laundry. After that we headed to church. She played at the nursery because she was a bit loud during the service. After church Lillie and I went to the lake to watch Brooke's soccer game and then go for a walk with Auntie Lo. She had a great time, but didn't get a good nap today. She snoozed a little during our walk. When we got home we started our chores. Brother was doing homework and Daddy was cooking dinner. Mommy and Daddy both worked in the yard. Lillie still hadn't had a decent nap and it was 6pm! We decided it was too late for a nap now, so we had to keep her busy. She enjoyed being outside today so I thought she could help me water the plants. I took her out to water my mother's day trees and she grabbed the hose. She wanted to do it. She got the biggest kick out of it. It kept her busy until it was late enough to start routine (bath, massage, jammies.) I wish I could of got some pictures, but we didn't get the camera until she was just about done. I did get a short video. Enjoy!

The State Fair, part 2...

Lillie is finally better. Yesterday was her first really good day. We were ready to get out of the house as a family and enjoy this beautiful weather (a bit hot, but still beautiful.)

Aunt Marla and I took Draven and Lillie to the fair last weekend, but Lillie started to run a fever and just didn't feel good. This time she was all smiles. Draven felt like he missed out on a bunch since we had to focus all of our attention on Lillie. This time we let Draven bring two friends. Last night Draven had his BF spend the night. This morning we went to Mesta Fest for an hour or so. It is not a big festival, more like a neighborhood get together. We usually run into some of Draven's classmates. As we were leaving we ran into Jordan. She went to elementary school with Draven and Landon, and now goes to Classen with them. She is such a wonderful girl. Pretty, smart, and talented. Anyway... Chris invited her to go to the fair with us. She seemed like she didn't mind spending the day with two boys.

We got to the fair and sent the kids on their way. They are finally old enough that they can do their own thing without the parents tagging along. We gave them each a little cash and they all had cell phones. They headed straight to the games and rides. Me, Chris and Lillie went back to see the animals. This time Lillie was so excited. I have to say her favorite was the chickens. She loved those chickens. She saw lots of animals, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, llamas, zebra, deer, emu, and her second favorite was the camel. She fed the camel and cracked up laughing when it licked her hand. Too sweet. We were there for a long time and she never got tired or fussy. She loved it all. She even wanted to eat my Poncho Dog. I shared a little. The kids were having so much fun that they called their parents to talk them into staying later. Chris and I were too tired. We agreed to take them out to pizza after the fair. We got to sit down and rest a bit. It turned out to be a wonderful Saturday. I just love seeing these kids get a long so well. Nothing better than seeing happy childhood memories being made. I think today that is exactly what happened.

Here we are at Mesta Mesta. Good food, beer, music, and of course a slide!

More chickens.

Baby chicks!

That horse is funny!

She loved the cows too!

This was here favorite cow. He didn't move.

Check out this animal. It's a Lillie!

Before we left, I took the kids up the space needle. They said that was their favorite part of the fair... and it is free!

The kids had pizza and the claw machine.

Lillie Marie...

Poor Lillie has been sick since Saturday night. She woke up fussy and had a rash. Sunday she had a fever and the rash looked worse. Took her to the doctor on Monday. Doc says it is just a virus. Poor thing looks like she has chicken pox. Even though she has been sick, she is still sweet. Here's a video of her today wanting to play with Lola instead of eat her dinner.
The cats tend to come around when it is time for Lillie to eat. Then Lillie doesn't want to eat, she wants to play with her Kitties!

The great state fair of OKLAHOMA!

And yes, it is back to being a GREAT fair. It went down hill for a while, but it is back. We would of spent much more time there, but Lillie was sick. She started feeling bad on Saturday night. She started running a fever at the fair so we had to cut the trip short. She is still sick today. We are hoping to go back to the fair this saturday.

This was a pirate musuem. Marla and Draven said it was super cool. Lillie and I waited outside.

Lillie loved the animals, but just didn't feel good enough to smile.

Draven won a tie die Dolphin. It was worth about .50 but only cost him $5, what a deal!

Ahhhh, the food!

Draven is eating his favorite... Cheese on a Stick!

Marla and I split a fair favorite, Indian Taco. Next time I need to remember to hit the right Indian taco stand. I am pretty sure that Dan's taco stand is much better than this one.
Lillie checking out the goats.
Yep, that is Aunt Marla on a camel!

We can't wait to go back!

PICTURE DAY...

Before I show you all of the cute pictures from Saturday night, I have to give my excuses of why I haven't been blogging. My father had surgery on September 9th (my birthday.) Since then I have been taking care of him daily. Of course, he has yet to enter the 21st century so I have been without a computer. Dad is doing great and I am back home and sleeping in my own bed tonight!!!

Ok, catch up time.

Marla came into town for a wedding last weekend. The wedding was on Friday so I got her for the rest of the weekend. Saturday night we had a little get together to watch the football game. The game was boring so we sat outside and talked for ours. It was so much fun! Nothing exciting, just spaghetti, beer, and friends.

In this picture Marla is saying "I like your earrings" (Chris got me those for my Birthday.) I am saying "Oh, these?"

The girls posed like we were having picture day. The boys talked about, hmmm... I don't know. I wasn't paying attention.
I do know that Al is wearing the socks that Matt was had stuffed in his pants.

I also know that my head is big and I should always be in the back when someone takes my photo. Otherwise I end up with MONGO HEAD like in this photo.

We are such dorks, and I love it!

Birthday weekend...

We had a fantastic weekend as usual. Friday I was sick with a head cold and migraine. On Saturday and Sunday Chris and I had the stomach bug. We figured if Draven could make the best of his birthday weekend, then so could we. Chris was going to cancel our dinner plans on Saturday, but I talked him out of it. We went shopping most of the day on Saturday. I got some new clothes and we bought a few things for dinner at Nanny's and Poppy Jacques. It was such a relaxing time. Nanny Gwen wanted Draven and I to come over and celebrate our birthdays with her. We had fillets, baked potatoes (for Draven) and a gorgeous salad. For dessert we picked up a tiramisu from La Baguette. I am glad we stuck to spending the evening with family instead of spending a fortune and going out to eat. After dinner we opened presents. I told Gwen that I wanted clothes for my birthday. She is one of the few people that I trust to buy clothes for me. She and Jacques got me some of the cutest shirts and jewelry. Lots of fun things. Draven got an old knight to guard his bedroom door plus a wallet with some cash in it. Don't tell Chris, but if that was the only thing I did for my birthday I would be satisfied. His family knows how to treat a birthday girl!

Look how comfy Lillie looks.

Self portrait of the birthday boy and girl.

Sunday we made plans to go and get my eyes examined and get a new pair of glasses and sun glasses. I was so excited! I got my eyes checked and headed over to Eye Masters. I have gone there for years and every time I leave unhappy. They have "specials" that never turn out to be as advertised. This time it was two pairs of complete glasses for $99. From past experiences I knew to read the fine print, pretty standard stuff... frames had to be $69.95 or less and it had to be a single non complex prescription. I can always find frames I like there for the $69.95 price so that wasn't a problem. I asked them if I could do one pair as sunglasses for an additional cost. Of course! It was an extra $80 but, well worth it. A new pair of glasses plus a pair of sun glasses for $180! Not bad. Until they start figuring in all of these "extras." By the time they were through they had changed the price of my glasses about 4 times. They were $180, then $205, then $229, then $280! And... it was going to take two weeks! I got so mad (as I usual do at them) and walked out. Don't even get me started about the "insurance" that cost more than just buying new glasses. That was my last issue with eye masters. I have to say I am never going back. So we are trying a little place that one of Chris' friends goes to. Hopefully we will have better luck there.
Ok, enough of that. After the mall we headed to the Harn Homestead for a church picnic. It was so much fun. It is just good ol' fashioned family wholesomeness. We had a potluck, moon walk, kick ball, sack races, watermelon.... all the classics. We had a great time and now are done with are weekend. I am sad to see it go. Even though most of the weekend was spent with an upset stomach. My real birthday is on Tuesday. That is the same as my dad's surgery (lots of prayers.) So maybe I will get to do something special tomorrow. Hope so!

Lillie had to go to the little girls room.

Kick ball.

Everyone enjoying a picnic on a beautiful day.

I love this barn. I was tring to take a picture of it without anyone walking in front of my camera. Obviously, no luck. Chris and I would love to throw a private party here.

Lillie's first picnic.
First time on a moon walk. She cried when Chris took her out.

Lillie was asleep before we even got home.
