Lillie update...

She went back to the doctor yesterday. Dr. Dooley said that she is much better than she was on Friday. Ears and throat looked good and no fever. She is going back to daycare today. She still sounds bad, but feels better. While she was at the doctor they weighed her again. She lost 2 ounces since she has been sick. Poor baby can't eat very much. Last night she was back up to her 4 ounces a feeding. I think she in on her way to being well. Hopefully my blog will have fun post and pictures again. The past week has just been blogging about my sick baby. We might go back to Eddie's tonight. That my be an exciting post!

STILL SICK..

Sucking on a sick baby's pacifier, Good Idea? I don't think so. Now Chris is sick too.

Enjoying a family night at home with a sick baby.

Chris and Draven cooked hot dogs over the fire.

Poor thing has been sick since Tuesday. Today she is still sick, not worse, not better, just sick. Last night we tried to have a fun family night even with a sick baby. We all sat on the porch and talked about how we would spend a million dollars. We also talked about vacation homes and dream getaways. The weather was perfect so we brought Lillie out with us. She slept most of the time but it was nice to have her out and get some fresh air. This morning she woke up sounded so pathetic. Her voice is hoarse and it just breaks my heart when she cries. Her fever hasn't come back up so I am cutting back on the Tylenol today. Chris has come down with the cold today. HE is now lying in bed with Lillie listening to Prairie Home Companion. They can be sick together. Draven and I feel great so I guess we will do our best to play nurse. Luckily, Chris is off most of the day tomorrow. HE has court in OKC at 3 and I will be home by then. If Lillie isn't better tomorrow I think we will take her back in to the doctor. The antibiotic should be working by now. I miss my sweet happy baby.

SICK BABY..

Lillie had a rough day yesterday. I held her while I typed my blog with one hand last night. She is napping now, so I thought I would do an update.
Lillie just looked bad when I picked her up from Daycare on Friday. As soon as I touched her I could tell she had a fever. I called her ped. and they got her in right away. Chris had taken her to doctor on Wednesday and she had a cold. She seemed better on Thursday. Friday she just went down hill. All of the drainage settled in her ear causing an infection. Dr. Dooley got her started on an antibiotic and tylenol. I started that as soon as I got home. Lillie seemed like she was starving (good sign) but she couldn't keep anything down. She was throwing up her food and medicine. Chris called Bill and he suggested Pedilyte. We started her on that last night and it worked. We had to pace her, she wanted to eat it all and fast! She slept pretty well last night despite the way she felt. THis morning she sounded awful, but didn't have a fever. Now she is resting again and seems to be doing better. We have her back on formula, but only a little bit at a time. So far she has kept it down. Lets hope she just keeps feeling better. HEr doctor said she should be better by Monday. If not, we will take her back in the doctor. Until then we just hold her and love on her. She just wants her mommy and poppy to take care of her. I hate to see her sick, but she sure is sweet and snuggly.

SICK GIRL...

Looks like we will spend our weekend at home. No fun pictures. Just a very sick baby. I took her back to the doctor today. She still has a cold, but now has a fever and an ear infection. She can't keep anything down. She just wants her Mommy and Poppy to love and hold her. We can do that. Chris' mother brought us dinner and we are in for the night. Hope tommorrow she starts to feel better.

LONG TIME...

No blog.
Been busy. Lillie has her first official cold from daycare. Yuck. My father had back surgery on Wednesday so we have been taking care of two patients. Hopefully both are on their way to getting better. Lillie went to the doctor on Wednesday and was weighed. She is now at 9 pounds 4 ounces. That is all we have going on at the moment. Tonight we are getting together with Chris' family. Maybe I will get some good pictures. If so I will post them. We might try to get out to the Art's Festival too.

GOODBYE, AGAIN..

At the end of last year we heard that one of our favorite restaurants was closing after over 40 years of business. We wanted to try and make it for one last dinner, but never made it. Last night we discovered (a little late) that they choose to keep the restaurant open until April 30Th. We were thrilled to be able to make it for one last dinner. Draven was at a friend's house so we had a mini date night with Lillie. The food was awesome as usual and I am already wanting to go back one more time.
We had the usual starters of hummus, taboli, cabbage rolls, ribs, pickled carrots and corn, and a salad. I had a fillet and Chris had more cabbage rolls. The cabbage rolls are the best thing on the menu. I finished the evening up with pecan Carmel cheesecake and a cup of coffee. Chris asked for a menu on the way out (he collects them) and they gave him one. If was a wonderful night. We came home feeling so happy and content. Now we need to plan one last night at Eddy's before they are gone for good.

FASHION SHOW...

Auntie Lo bought Lillie the cutest outfit. She did a fashion show for us today. Chris and I bought her a sun dress. I love it, Chris calls it her Hippie Dress. She loves playing dress up. Sometimes she gets a little carried away. By the time we were done she was wearing her pants on her head. Silly girl.

Baseball is a dangerous sport...

Not for the players, but the audience. Last game we went to we talked about all of the injuries that had happened that summer, including a few DEATHS! This game was no exception, no deaths but we did have an injury (not any of us.) We got our great seats thanks to Chris' friend Al. They are the first row in front of the dugout. Can't beat those seats, but you are right in the line of fire. Not the best place for a new baby. When we got to our seats we were warned of the risks we were taking by bringing our baby. We kept her behind the dugout wall when someone was pitching. When it time for the entertainment we brought her out to watch.
Now for the highlights. We went and saw our friend Tabitha sing the national anthem before the game. She did an awesome job! Way to go! It was nice seeing John and his family outside of work.
Once the game started we were very cautious of foul balls. We had Lillie in a safe spot but we were out in the open. We had a few close calls. Nothing compared to what happened to one spectator. Around the 3 inning one of the batters bat broke and went flying. Half of the shattered bat flew into the audience and hit a woman. I don't know the extent of her injury, but it can't be good. After that it was hard to enjoy the game. I never thought about getting hit by a bat. Now I am paranoid. I love the games and I love those great seats, but....
I will just have to get up and walk around a lot.

Tabitha getting ready to start...

Rowdy the Redhawk didn't take his hat off during the anthem. Shame on him.

Chris and Lillie before the game. We got there early so we wouldn't miss the National Anthem. Normally, we show up late and leave early.

The Melton family with Lillie. They will be adding another to their family in July.

Me and Lillie.

Draven at the game. He really wanted a foul ball but is too shy to get up there and ask for one.

Chris and Al Hoch, he is the one that shares those great seats.

Lillie and Poppy...

Lillie's daycare closed on Friday and Monday due to a gas leak. I was hoping I would get to be the one to spend the day with her. Instead Poppy took her to court on Friday and went to visit out of town friends on Monday. He just loves showing her off.
Chris had juvenile court Friday morning. She spent most of her time in Judge Herndon's office. Kim and Tonya looked after her while Chris was in the court room. After their time in Chickasha, Chris took her to Caddo County court house.

WEEKEND UPDATE...

I know it has been such a long time since my last post. Remember when I would post everyday, sometimes three times a day? Now I work. When I get home I want to play with my baby! Such is getting to be so much fun. So I better give a quick weekend summary before she wakes up from her nap.
Friday we had family night. We watch a movie and cooked out hot dogs. Saturday Draven and Chris had the acolyte festival at church. Lillie and I went to the Lacy's house to play. We passed Lillie around and took lots of pictures. As you can see below everyone got a chance to hold Lillie, including Kate's huge doll. After that we went to visit the boys at church. Chris took Lillie home and I stayed for the church service. Draven was such a good sport about getting up and going to church on a Saturday. He loves church, but hates mornings. Then on Sunday we just worked around the house and I did a little shopping. That basically sums up the weekend. Now the photos....

Update...

I haven't updated in a while. I have been a little down about the whole daycare thing and going back to work. I am slowly coming to terms with it all. My job is a mess. I am basically homeless. I work anywhere I can find space. No computer, phone, printer, e-mail, file cabinets... You get the point. They say it will change when we move to our new building. I have a feeling it won't change that much. Communial space does not work for me. I have to be organized.

Now on to Lillie. Daycare sucks. It isn't a bad daycare, it just isn't the way I had planned things. I hoped that by the time Lillie was born I might get to stay home with her the first year. I guess I should be greatful I got as much time as I did with her. Chris took her to daycare for just a couple hours today. He didn't work, but we pay for it no matter what. So, he went to lunch and ran an errand then picked her up. They are really getting their money from us. SHe is such an easy baby and she is only there a few hours a day. Now we are all home and it is my kind of day, gray and rainy. I am going to update my blog then just hang out the rest of the evening.

I took a bunch of pictures of Lillie today. I felt like she is growing up so fast I need to take pictures every day.

MONDAY, MONDAY...

Today I went back to work and Lillie started daycare. I would go into detail, but I just am not up for it. I will say that I know this is what I need to do for now. I just hope it is temporary.

you can take the girl out of the country...

but you can't take the country out of the girl.
There is a lot of truth to that statement. I just don't think I could ever move back to the country. After spending the day out in the woods I ended up covered in ticks. I am still freaking out.
Yesterday we went to my grandparents house so that they could meet Lillie Marie. We had a great visit, got a few photos, then headed out to hunt morels.
Ever since I was a little girl we would hunt morels. For those of you that don't know, morels are a hard to find mushroom that only grows about a week a year. You have to know when and where to look. I have the same spots that I have gone to year after year. There is one tree that has more and more every year. I think I found close to 30 in that one spot. It is like easter egg hunting for adults. Of course these mushrooms taste a lot better than a plastic egg. This year we found over 100. That was about 2 hours worth of work. Not bad for something that people are willing to pay as high as (or higher) $150 pound. I just saw a comany selling them dried for that price. Fresh is cheaper and in much demand. We don't sell them, we just eat them. Every year I think about selling them to local restaurants. Maybe next year.

Lillie with her Great grandparents...

Lillie likes morels, that or she is laughing at poppy in his tank top. We all went home 1/2 dressed due to the tick issue.

The loot.

medieval fair...

Every year Draven and I go to the Medieval Fair. This year he saved up his money so he could buy something special. He ended up with a cane sword and a couple of night figurines. We left Lillie and Chris behind so we decided to pick up a few extra kids. Draven's cousin Brooke and her friend Cheyenne went with us. Draven liked looking at all of the knight stuff, the girls wanted to pet every dog. I think everyone had a great time. Now I am home and beat. We went to a baby expo this morning so it has been a long day.
