Maternity clothes...

I started showing sooner than in my past pregnancies. I guess that is how it goes... I think I switched to maternity clothes around 12 weeks with Lillie. My belly has been bloating up pretty big in the evenings, but now it is all day, everyday. I have been sticking to wearing jogging shorts but I have learned there are some places that is just not appropriate. We had an engagement party to go to Friday night and I struggled to find something to wear. Everything just makes me look like I have gained a lot of weight. I want to look pregnant. Today I decided to bring down the maternity clothes. Ahhhh.... It feels so good to wear things that don't feel so tight. Of course right now they are too big, but I am not complaining!
Here's a picture of me after the party on Friday. My baby may be the size of a grape but my belly is the size of a pumpkin!

lake house...

Lillie cried because she had to go back to the house. She wanted to play in the water.

We made the boys go explore the lake.

Tucker loves being a country dog!

Last weekend we went to the lake house and got a little work done. Chris painted, the kids played, and I ate. It was the first weekend we actually spent the night at the lake house. Very exciting!
Here's a few pics of the trip.

8 weeks 4 days...

Today I had my first ultrasound. The ultrasound has to be the most exciting part of pregnancy. Luckily Chris was off work so he was able to go with me and brought Lillie to watch. She sat on Daddy's lap and watched patiently. I am sure she was disappointed when all she saw was a gray blob. It did make it a little more real for me. The baby's heart rate was 164. He/She measured at 8 weeks, just a few days off. All in all it went well and it seems that I have a healthy baby growing inside me. Lets just hope it stays that way.

7 weeks (6 days) but who's counting...?

Today I had my first doctor's appointment. I was so very nervous! It was a new doctor, new pregnancy, and I had lots of questions.

Here's what was discussed today.
Estimated due date is 3-28-10. They will schedule a c-section a week or two before actual due date.
Risk of reoccurring preeclampsia is only 15%. Still scary, but she will watch me and the baby very closely.
I had routine blood work done today.
Scheduled first ultrasound for Wednesday the 18th. I will have a level 2 ultrasound between 11-13 weeks. After that I will have them monthly to make sure everything is progressing as it should.
The nurse sent me home with a pregnancy goody bag filled with magazines and prenatal vitamin samples. One of the magazines shows the baby's development month by month. This will be a great resource for Lillie. It is so hard for her to understand that the baby is growing and won't be here until March. She has no idea when March is.

Symptoms: Nausea! Nothing sounds good and when I do eat I can only eat very little. I have been eating a lot of fruit, but that doesn't even sound good today. I am also having major fatigue. I forgot how rough this is. I start to feel queasy and then faint or dizzy and all I want to do is rest. The strange thing is that I have been sleeping really well. I go to bed around 10:30 (normal for me) and wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7am. Most mornings I get up before Lillie. I am sure this will change as my belly begins to expand.

I don't have any belly pics or any other pics to share so here's a stock photo of a 7 week old fetus. It is amazing how fast they change and grow!

Wednesday FUNDAY!

For those of you that haven't heard (I have told everybody!) on Saturday we added to our family. We are hosting a foreign exchanged student for the school year. His name is George (Jorge) and he is from Southern Mexico. He already feels like part of the family. Saturday we just stayed home and ate pizza and watched a movie. Sunday was church day. We had church in the morning and then Draven's camp reunion and cookout at church in the evening. Monday and Tuesday we went swimming and hung out around the house. Nothing too exciting until today, WEDNESDAY FUNDAY!
We went to the zoo, the omniplex, and finished up our evening with Braums Ice Cream. Everyone had a blast! Including me.

6 vs 21...

So I know I already posted this picture of my 6 week belly shot. But... I went back and did a little comparison between this pregnancy and the last one.
A little scary... Don't cha' think?

6 weeks (mostly bloated) pregnant with new baby...

21 weeks (all baby) with Lillie...

week 6...

6 weeks and 5 days...
In the evenings my belly bloats up like a ballon. In the morning it doesn't look so "pregnant".

I don't think it has set in that we are having another baby. The first couple of weeks it seemed so unreal. Of course, it seemed that way last time too. I think with Lillie I found out a little later, like around 6 weeks. I found out so soon with this pregnancy. Before I even got the positive test I knew I was pregnant. Now that I am 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant (yes, I am counting the days) it is starting to feel a little real. Tuesday night was the first evening I felt sick. I wanted to eat, but couldn't. The thought or sight of food made my stomach turn. I didn't have much morning sickness with Draven. The only things that bothered me were coffee and smoke. With Lillie it was food. Nothing sounded good and I felt nauseated for the first two months. Luckily I don't throw up, I just get queasy. Yesterday I had a new symptom. A symptom I know I will not get a lot of sympathy from my husband. Fatigue. It is brutal. Unless you have been pregnant, you don't get it. It isn't like just being sleepy it makes you weak in the legs, feel faint, and only want to sit down. I don't want to sleep (although that would be nice) I just don't have any energy. Of course, the fact that I am not eating very much makes it worse. I had a friend tell me that I need to eat more protein to help grow a healthy baby. Most things high in protein are grossing me out. I can't eat meat, beans, or eggs. Luckily peanut butter and crackers seem to be working for now. I also discovered a new trick. One of the moms on my pregnancy website suggested club soda. It works really well. I am a little worried about the sodium content, but a small glass or two to get me through the day can't be too bad. I am a big water drinker and luckily that doesn't bother me and I have been getting plenty of that. As far as any other symptoms I still have big sore boobs and have to pee every hour (sometimes more often). I can't complain (even though sometimes I do). I am just glad to be going through this experience again. I have a wonderful family and I am very excited to add another Henry to the group.

Friends...

Ever since Lillie went to church camp (VBS) she is all about friends. I don't think she got the concept before but now she does. So yesterday she was very excited that Auntie Lo was going to baby sit her and she was going to get to see her "friends". Her friends are Hazel and Lucy. Hazel and Lucy are almost two and play very well with Lillie. I wish they got to play more together. Yesterday was a special treat for Lillie because she got to go swimming with her friends. When Auntie Lo was taking her to the pool Lillie pointed out that she has two friends. She wasn't sure about playing with her friends without her momma there, but once Chris and I arrived to pick her up she felt more comfortable. The girls swam, had snacks, and played together.
And here they are... Lillie's friends!

Indian Expo...

Today Lillie and I headed to Anadarko to see the indian parade. Chris works in Anadarko so it gives us a good reason to make the hour plus drive. We got up there just in time to see the parade start. They always seem to have the parade on the hottest day of the year. I think it was around 105 degrees today. Despite the heat we managed to watch the whole parade. Lillie got a trash sack full of candy. They pass out tons of things during the parade. Last year we got shirts, frisbees, hats, cups, water bottles, and of course candy. This year it was mainly candy. All and all it was a good time. I think the highlight of the day was when Lillie went to daddy's work so he can show her off. She is Daddy's little girl!
