just F.Y.I.

I am working on a new blog layout. I don't have time to finish it tonight, so it might look a little weird for the next few days.

snow day...

As most of you know, we have had a lot of wintery weather lately. Well, we had a spell of winter weather then it went back to being in the 60's and then we had more winter weather. Weird. But, that's Oklahoma. What started out as an ice storm has turned into a beautiful blanket of snow. We decided to take Lillie out to play in it after her nap. This would be her first time to play in snow. The last snow storm was so cold and windy we couldn't go out in it. We thought it was "warm" enough to take her out. We bundled up and headed out. It was fine until we turned the corner and the north wind hit our face. We decided to run up the hill, sled a few times, take a few pics, and head home.
Here are the pics we managed to get.

Lillie's birthday PART 4...

Sunday was Lillie's last celebration. She went to church with Daddy and wore her new dress and coat she got for Christmas. She received tons of compliments. After church we went to Nanny's house for birthday beans. Yep, my girl likes her beans. Her papa calls her Lillie Bean or just "Bean" for short.
Now that her birthday is over she keeps asking for cake and CHOO-CHOO. I asked her wanted she wanted for dinner the other night and she replied "eat in CHOO-CHOO".
Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon.

Lillie's birthday PART 3....

For Lillie's actual birthday we went out for dinner. To keep with the theme we headed to spaghetti warehouse to eat in the CHOO-CHOO. The food was ok, the service was worse, but the train was perfect. Not a lot of pictures. Dinner was such a disaster we only got a few pics goofing off after dinner.
Not part of birthday celebration, but...
cute pic of Lillie at the park during her birthday week.
2 years old, that's old enough to drive.
If you are wondering...
Draven is passionate.
Chris and I were a step up from "clamy". Nice.
Lillie didn't play Love Meter.

We also played Palm reader (game that tells you what you'll be when you grow up).
Draven-musician.
Sarah-adventurer.
Chris and Lillie-Lawyer. Weird.

Lillie's birthday PART 2...

This wasn't planned as part of her birthday week, but for blogging sake we will count it. Chris and Draven had the day off for MLK day. We decided to head to the zoo and enjoy the beautiful weather. Not a lot of pics of Draven, he was too busy running around with his buddies.

Lillie loves the zoo! The scary thing is that she is so independent. She wants to run around and check it all out by herself. She must get that from daddy.
But... she gets her love of ice cream from her mommy!

Hmmmm....

Lillie's birthday PART 1...

We had various celebrations throughout the week for Lillie's big 2 birthday. Here are the photos from her CHOO-CHOO birthday party!

Tonight Chris was watching TV (rare) and I was messing with my school schedule. While we were occupied downstairs Lillie was terrorizing the upstairs. She got in Bubba's room and messed it up. Then she threw a bunch of toys down the stairs. We made her clean it all up and get ready for bed. While she was cleaning all we could talk about was how much we love this little girl. Even when she is a mess, she is still adorable.
With her birthday approaching I have been thinking a lot about what I was doing two years ago to date. That is why I enjoy blogging. My memory isn't great.
So here is my blog entry for January 15th 2008, 2 years ago. I can't believe how little my belly is. I don't look like a woman who will be giving birth in 5 days. I look like a woman after a large meal.

BED REST, DAY EIGHT...
Maybe it is the angle of the camera, but I think my belly is shrinking.

Ok, Jenn... Don't call and tell me to call my doctor.
With that said, my blood pressure is back up. I think it just went back up because I can't keep my butt in bed. That and I think that the digital cuff is off a bit. It measured me at 139/94 this a.m. and 149/103 this afternoon. I go to the doctor tomorrow morning, so I will find out what the plan is then. I do plan on staying in bed for the rest of the evening. I don't know if I mentioned it last night, but Chris and his mom bought the cutest clothes. Chris bought her a little summer dress and some pj's. His mom bought blankets and gowns. I have her clothes washed and packed along with mine. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Chris and I did discuss some names today, but it is so close now we might wait to tell everyone. Nothing is official. The names we have picked are different then what we discussed previously. Draven approves, so that is a start.
Today went pretty well. Chris was home with me so I got breakfast in bed.

He worked on the baby's room and laundry and I folded the clothes. I like to find loop holes when it comes to bed rest. I was in bed, but working. Then we had a guy come by to bid on new garage doors for us. He was nice and gave us a great deal. He was chatty and I had to keep him entertained while Chris picked Draven up from school and ran my errands. I was out in the garage with him for about 30 mins. That probably had a lot to do with my blood pressure going up. Now it is around 5 p.m. and I am done for the day. Time to rest and think about my big day tomorrow. Wish me and little hen luck. Actually, forget the luck. Say a prayer that baby hen will come when she is good and ready and be born without any complications and is very healthy. AMEN!

Lillie's 2nd birthday...

LILLIE'S INVITATION (WITHOUT ADDRESS AND PHONE)
If you want the info and didn't get an invitation, contact me.

Can you believe it? Two! Lillie has requested a Choo-Choo birthday. If you ask her what kind of birthday party she wants to have she responds "choo-choo train". So that is what the girls is going to get. We even have a train coming to take us around the neighborhood. Spoiled little girl!

"BABY" FOOD...

Lillie just a few days old eating like a champ!

Lillie was a good eater when she was little. When she was first born the doctors would only allow her to take 7 cc's (a cc is the equivalent of a syringe full) of milk. Her stomach was so tiny that was all she could handle. All she wanted to do was eat. Some of the nurses would even sneak her in an extra cc of milk. They all felt so sorry for her because you could tell she wanted to eat more. We would have to pry the bottle out of her mouth.
When she started baby food she tried everything. She really loved big people food. Her favorite was eggy bread. By one year old she was eating every noodle in sight. She has been on a noodle kick for the past year. The problem is she stopped eating vegetables. Thanks to advice from a pediatric nutritionalist I started mixing vegetable baby food in with her noodles. Thankfully that worked.
Just this week she decided she wanted to eat vegetables. We were eating dinner and she said "I want that". Finally we figured out she was pointing at the mixed vegetables. We let her pick out what she wanted out of the bowl and she dug out all the carrots. The next night she picked all of the whole okra out of the gumbo. I took her to Jason's Deli today and she was eating everything in sight. Hopefully we won't have to sneak the veggies in anymore. Maybe she is turing a corner.
I would love to have a good eater!
