A few Lillie Pics...

We worked with Lillie walking yesterday. She actually took two steps. I tried to get a picture of her standing on her own. It is a little blurry, but she is standing and starting to walk. Yay!

Last night we went to Mercy Hospital for Lillie's scrawny baby meeting. Once a month they have meetings with all the NICU grads. Last nights speaker talked about carseat safety. Before the meeting we ate at the cafeteria. The food is excellent. We ate there many times while Lillie was in the hospital. Lillie ate so much for dinner! She had stroganoff, cauliflower, green beans, and mashed taters. Then at the meeting she ate cookies and punch. What a big girl!

gray sunday...

What a wonderful Sunday! Chris took the kids to church and I cleaned up the house. After that I had time to sit around and enjoy my coffee and gray day. Oh, I love a gray day! When everyone came home we went out for some shopping. We went to our favorite Sunday stop, The Rink. They have some of the best deals and even better, they have snacks, drinks, and music on Sunday. Very budget friendly entertainment. We found a few good deals including a pink enamel wear pots and pans. Then we head to the thrift store and got her her own set of plastic dishes and some other cooking tools. We are washing up Lillie's new "toys." In the morning I am going to get Lillie her own drawer in the kitchen so she can cook with Daddy. She already gets into all of his cooking stuff. Now she has her own.
Before we headed home we stopped at the grocery store. Now that we have a baby, everything is more fun. We love showing Lillie the world and watching her try new things.

Rat dinner...

Last night we had dinner with our dear friends. It was so low key and easy. Chris made beans, greens, cornbread, gumbo, and rat (pigs feet.)

The pigs feet were not edible, but the rest was devine! Nothing beats Chris comfort food especially when it is accompanied by good friends.

Christmas festivities...

This was the first of many Christmas' we had this year. We had my brother and his family in town, that is always a treat. This was Lillie's first present to open up for Christmas. I don't remember what it was or who it was from... but I am sure she loved it!

A photoless update...

Lillie had her one year check up yesterday. She is doing really well. She is staying in the 25% range for her weight and 50% for her height. She was up to over 19 pounds two weeks ago, but after being sick she lost almost a pound. I guess I will always obsess over her weight. She's come along way from her birth weight of a scrawny 2 pounds 15 ounces. She seems to be meeting all of the developmental requirements, but I knew that for the most part thanks to Sooner Start. Her doctor took her off formula and we are going to get her off the bottle cold turkey. So far so good. Last night she was really fussy and we gave her a bottle. I think we will just give the bottle up during the day for now. She really has her appetite up after being sick. She loves spaghetti O's! I even got her to eat prunes today. She is really growing up fast. Now if I can get her to start walking.
On to my other child...
He has a crush on a girl. This one is a bit different than most. Usually he likes a girl because she likes him first. He is approaching this girl first. He asked me last night what he should wear and what how should he ask her. He was a nervous wreck this morning. Poor guy. I hope it turns out well. He sure is a good kid. I told him that I would take them to the movies or something if she said yes. We will see. I remember I started "dating" in 7th grade. My brother would drop me off in Guthrie and I would meet my "boyfriend," Hansen. We would walk around town, play tennis, then go and read the paper at Hardee's. Very romantic stuff. He was my first real kiss too. Ugh, that is scary to think about. I don't want Draven to have a girlfriend. We are dangerous! At least for me, it was all pretty innocent for at least the first few years of my dating career.
